Gluten Free Canned Pasta in Tomato Sauce

DSCN0050 You all know what I am talking about. Those cans of pasta that were  a treat as a kid. Well I make them and can them at home. It is simple and it works. Ingredients:

  • 30 ounces of Tomato Sauce
  • 3 Cups Water
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 8-10 ounces dried pasta ( I used Tinkyada Joy's Little Dreams)
  • 1/2 to 1 Cup Parmasan Cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Milk
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  1. Stir all ingredients except for pasta over a medium heat
  2. place 1/4 to a 1/2 cup of dry pasta in clean pint jars
  3. top jars with sauce
  4. add lids
  5. place in a hot water bath for 60-120 min. (or pressure cook as tomato soup)

When finish let cool and check seals.  There is a lot of controversy on canning. There are guide lines set by the FDA. You can easily look them up on line. If you do not want to can these then just throw you pasta in the sauce and cook until done. Live, Laugh and Enjoy! ~Fire-Eyes
